What do ye think?
Paul Kernan is doubtful....50/50 chance of playing.
On paper Crossmaglin look awsome..........
Brosnan and Gooch need to play off each other in Crokes are to win

Hopefully Crokes will do it. A lot will depend on the ref and the weather. Heavy conditions to suit Cross. Fussier ref to suit Crokes.

i was talking to a fellow with close ties to the st bridgets team from rosscommon beaten by cross in the semi.
he feels cross are beatable for sure,he told me they couldnt get francie to leave the fullfback position during the game where he cleaned up.Their fullforward struggled in the early stages on francie but came more into the game as it wore on.
if they could afford to play brosnan fullforward and pump in the high ball it might work, but they hardly have enough cover to do so.
unless cooper goes one and one on francie and tries to take him on,cross mighten allow this to develope though,it seem paul kiernan will be marking the gooch if fit.
saturday is an occasion made for someone like colm to flourish, sometimes in club football you really see the brillance of a great county player when he drives on for the spirt of the club and the friends he grew up with.
maybe the memories of being lifted onto the croker sod by the crokes goalie in'92 will reawaken the sprirt of that occasion within, that day the brillant connie murphy ran himself into the ground v tomas davis and was inspirational for the crokes.
the look on brosnans face told a million words when he goaled in the replay,i dont ever remember seeing that look on his face while wearing the green and gold,it was of a driven man.
cross have been there and done it all before, its perfectly poised for someone like the gooch to reach out and seize the day aided by brosnan and co. The closer the game comes the less it will surprise me if the crokes win it,colm might be playing for the memory of killarney people close to him.

Likewise I'll have to content myself with watching on telly. Anyone know anything about the ref?

I would give eye teeth to be there. I think the Crokes are hungry enough to just do it. Agree with an earlier paost if brosnan and cooper paly off each other they will spell trouble for the crossmaglin backs Bset of luck to them

Crokes are up against it. The thing is Cross are raging favourites which might suit the Crokes who have a young team. They will need Gooch and Brosnan to do well but they will need others also.
IT would say a lot about football in Kerry if Crokes could win the AI without being able to win the county.

Not too many kerry teams go up to croker not expecting to win, they will give it a fair auld blast in fairness, they also have the best forward in the game,if the gooch slips into the grove and gets plenty of ball you never know!

I think they are up against it. Cross will double up on Gooch and come up with a plan for brosnan as well. Serious effect into tactics up there. Really, if crokes are to win it will have to be the lesser lights that will have to shine. Looney, Leary, doolin, quinn, maloney, odonovan will all need to be on top form.
I just can't see them winning given the class and physicality that cross have.

Leave them doule up on gooch. That will leave more room for the likes of kieran leary who is also a class act. Anyway cooper will not be kept quite for 60 mins. Also the crokes backs have been outstanding all year, not conceding a goal on the way to croke park. Hopefully Brosnan will play an offensive role rather than playing too defensive like he did in the first game against moorefield.
If crokes can break even in midfield and keep mc conville and co quite and not give away frees. I feel they can do it but they may need a goal or two.
Hopefully croke park will become CROKES park come saturday evening.

If they can get enough ball into Gooch then they will win - simple as that. Agree that Brosnan will play vital role. Tactics will play a major role and the battle of wits between the 2 managers will be interesting. Crokes to win with Gooch doing the business!
