Was at the game. Crokes can be considered unlucky. To think they played with out McMahon for the whole game and without Brosnan for effectivley half the game. I would say Cross were bit over confident and judging by McConvilles TV interview they will be confident again. Think Crokes will win the replay.......

Cooper did really well at centre forward he is a great playmaker and make great scores through foot and hand passing. I said here if he got 15 minutes on the 40 against Tryone in 2005 it might have been a different story but he is a definite option to go there for Kerry for spells in games....

They'll be missing Tony Kernan, one of the young engines in the team.....and Crokes have a full strenght team almost......it's 50 50. The tight pitch in Portlaoise will suit Cross a little more - less ground to travel and it gives them a chance to defend more quickly against the basketball ball game almost always employed by Crokes.

Crokes 1 - 05 Cross 0 - 13
Sounded like Gooch penalty miss in second half was turning point.

Cross were better overall...... stronger, cuter, more cynical as well as having more scoring power. John McNamee got 2 yellow cards but no red card. Cross substituted him about 5 minutes later. Refereeing is a joke.
Coopers penalty was poor........ a point would have done at that stage to put them ahead. Saving it lifted Cross.

Feel sorry for Crokes-another final they have lost.
Cross were better in fairness and kicked great points in the 2nd half.
One score by Crokes in 2nd half says it all.
Cross I guess just had that cuteness, experience and most improtantly the ability to score from long range whereas the Crokes tried to work it in too much.
Poor penalty by Gooch who was right to go for goal as it could have been decisive whereas a point would have still meant that Cross feeling they got off lightly.
Awful by the ref not sending Mcentee off but it should not detract from the overall game.

Cross’ win fourth All-Ireland 01 April 2007
Crossmaglen have claimed the All-Ireland club football championship for a fourth time with a comprehensive replay victory over Dr Crokes at Portlaoise.
The Armagh champions consolidated their status as the greatest club side in GAA history with a superb 0-13 to 1-5 victory over the Killarney men, who managed just a single second-half score – a goal from David Maloney.
Both sides were reduced to fourteen men in the second half, and John McEntee was fortunate not to receive a similar censure to John Donaldson and Ambrose O’Donovan as he seemed to pick up two yellow cards.
At the end of a tough, uncompromising first half, the Ulster champions led by 0-7 to 0-5. Dr Crokes did all their scoring in a purple patch between the eighth and 19th minutes, but apart from that Cross’ were totally dominant.
Crossmaglen hit the first three points – including a beauty from Martin Aherne - but the Killarney side then reeled off a succession of scores, including two from Colin Cooper. But Cross’ finished the half strongly with points from the magnificent Aaron Kernan, Stephen Kernan and a brace from Oisin McConville to take a two-point interval cushion.
Cross’ wanted action taken when The Gooch seemed to lash out at Paul Kernan early in the second half but the only consequence of the incidence was a yellow card for goalkeeper Paul Hearty for retaliation.
Aaron Kernan scissored through the Crokes defence to score an inspirational point five minutes after the restart but the sides were level in the 38th minute when David Maloney volleyed the ball to the net. Cooper was the creator when he latched onto a mis-kick from Ambose O’Donovan and delivered a deadly pass across the face of the goal.
The Armagh champions were growing increasingly frustrated as a series of decisions seemed to be going against them – and they were even less impressed when Crokes were awarded a penalty for a foul on Maloney.
Hearty exacted some retribution when he guessed correctly and saved Cooper’s weak shot, diving to his left for a good save on 40 minutes. The Munster champions were dominant now, and the Armagh men were on the ropes.
But in the remainder of the game, Cross’ showed their true mettle.
David McKenna saw yellow for connecting with Cooper’s head with his knee after the Kerry star bought a cheap free by falling to ground. The outstanding Aaron Kernan and John Donaldson were keeping Cross’ in contention and they combined to set up McConville but, for once, the former All Star was off target.
Sixteen minutes into the second half, McConville showed his class when he split the posts with an incredible score off the outside of his boot to put Crossmaglen back ahead, but John McEntee had no such joy when he tried something similar off his left foot.
Twelve minutes from the end, Cross’ were reduced to fourteen men when Donaldson was sent off for a second yellow, but they kept their cool to move further ahead with an excellent Stephen Kernan point.
O’Donavan was also lined two minutes later but Cross’ still felt hard done by as the referee failed to play an advantage that could have given them a vital score. David McKenna won a free, which Aaron Kernan slotted calmly over the bar seven minutes from time for his third score of the game.
There were three points between the teams with six minutes to go and – with 28 players on the pitch - both sidelines were making frantic changes to try and restore some order to the frantic play. McConville stretched the differential with a huge point from distance: 0-12 to 1-5.
Just after Donaldson’s red, Cross’ had replaced John McEntee with midfielder Stephen Clarke – a controversial move as some people seemed to think that the Crossmaglen centre forward had picked up two yellow cards during the course of the match. Was there a case of mistaken identity involving identical twin brother Tony?
Man of the Match Aaron Kernan swept forward again to win another free, which McConville converted in the final minute – his sixth score of this All-Ireland final replay.
Two minutes were added on and Dr Crokes completely lost their discipline at the end, indulging in some ridiculous off-the-ball striking that did very little to enhance their reputation as magnanimous losers. But they had managed just a solitary second-half score and Crossmaglen were thoroughly deserved winners.
Oisin McConville capped an outstanding career with club and county by shaking the Andy Merrigan Cup at his people.

Saw the monument errected at Toomevara marking the spot where Martin Beckett from Crokes was killed in a crash along with a lad from Legion and another friend, decorated with Crokes Colours today. Weeshie mentioned it on the radio.
Its only a game
