The league is so hard to figure. Teams like Donegal who go well in it disappear in the Championship. Donegal are a good team this year no doubt but have the beatings of a full strength cork mayo Kerry Tyrone etc when you get in to the real stuff. I Like Mayo. I said it for a while. Management who's not afraid to make changes and shake up the senior panel by bring up the u-21. Problem with some teams they are afraid to make the old boys fight for there place. Half last years Mayo team should be suds starting with Connor. Never saw anyone less interested last year but still make his place, give the young lads a chance.

the mayo galway game had very little bite in it yesterday,a poorish kildare side made donegal look average enough. Are there any good sides out there at all?? If Tyrone (allowing for injuries), Cork et al are the teams to beat come summer, then how come they languished in the League? Understandably Kerry didnt have much to learn, but Mayo & Donegal etc are just doing what Kerry & Tyrone & Armagh have done in the past - progressing through the League without showing a full hand. How often did Kerry look anything special in winning the League? I would agree, that going on past history, you wouldnt predict the 4 semi-finalists to win Sam based solely on them being the League semi-finalists, but it's those 4 who have played to a better standard than any others so far, albeit clear that once again Div 1A top 2 teams are stronger (in this case, more experienced anyway) Has the League slipped because Kerry didnt need it at all this year? How will Kerry cope with the changes since last year, and trying to win 2-in-a-row? Have Donegal & Mayo come on? Unless one of those two puts in a big performance and wins the final going away, I imagine most people will say that Kerry are still the team to beat, and that Tyrone could be there abouts if they get all their main players fit & on form, would that be accurate?

Kerry and Tyrone are a bit ahead of the pack in relation to winning in Croke Park in August and September which is when it matters.
Armagh may be slipping. It took half the Armagh team plus the Maor Uisce, and a blind ref to beat Crokes.

Tyrone not cute, but no team could withstand the injury problems theyve had, so far. Once those players are back fit & on form, no reason to believe they wont get it right when it matters. Of course, they also have to legislate without wee Peter......
You havent answered my questions as to whether Kerry can withstand the loss of two major players (assuming they dont come back - they probably will) & deal with a new coach & the hunger needed to win 2 in a row. Though no doubt, if no big improvements have been made by Mayo or Donegal or Armagh, then Kerry or Tyrone could pick up a handy Sam

You wouldnt put tyrones form down to lack of hunger rashers?,and a question for you, would tyrone have won all-irelands in'03 and '05 without peter canavan and finally how much would dublin have won the all-ireland in'95 by if peter had not been playing.
i'm not sure that kerry will replace the two lads this season, tomas and marc were weak for county football in their first seasons with kerry, reidy and young will have it all to do to step up the plate this summer.I wasnt at the dublin league game but some of the lads said that reidy played well and was here to stay,i must say i was at several of kerrys league games this year and i didnt see that with reidy, maybe he came of age in parnell park, who knows,we will only know that come august in white hot heat of championship football in croker.
A change of manager often brings a fresh start, kerry have had three since '97 whereas harte and kiernan might be starting to say the same things all over again. Its all up in the air yet,one couldnt call for sure what kerry will be like yet,its all ifs and buts at the moment as regards to what the form of key players will be like.
I think they wont be too far off the pace though at the end of the day.

Kerry's hunger this year is the 6 million dollar question. They always want to win but its hard to tell if the hunger is there untill it comes to the crunch. It might take Reidy and Young a little time to settle in but they are good footballers. I think Tyrone will be harder to beat than Armagh utlimately. Most of their players have been there before etc. Armagh will be tough to beat but I dont think they will win it. Kerry will be knocking on the door come August and September. Donegal looked good in the league but their performance against Kildare made them look less impressive.

I think Kerrys hunger will appear at the start of the Championship. Its more than likely Darraghs last year and he will want to go out in a blaze or glory. He is well respected by his team mates and I have no doubt they will answere the call. There is a young team there but there is also a vast amount of knowledge and experience with gooch brosnan darragh tom the 2 se'a and galvin. You got lads fighting for most of the forward positions and there are a few in the backs. I really not worried about them its just finding the right combo. Look how long into the championship last year before it all started to work.
