I think Limerick have a great chance of turning us over on Sunday. Seamus Scanlon at full forward? Is this a joke? He is a good fielder but is terrible in front of goal. I presume he will come out and leave 2 inside. Forwards look lightweight with none of quill, hussey or mfr being great ball winners.
Sheehan, tomas and sean sullivan are all listed as subs but are carrying injuries and reidy and paul o'connor will have played the day before which makes the subs bench look very light.

Theres still a fair bit of talent on view from 1 to 9,i suppose defence might be the key on sunday, scalon will be more mobile full than quirke.these are the type of situations that tell you a lot about your panel.I still think kerry can win it.

Hussey should be in the inside-line. Plus, don't put injured players at risk!
We should be alright at the back but the forwards?? I would like to see Hussey tried in the inside line, really his best position is inside corner forward. Perhaps, he would even do the job at full-forward for Sunday. I can't see the Scanlon experiment working at full forward at all? I guess we are in a tight spot with forwards for this one. I actually think given the players that are missing and given the fact that Limerick are beginning to stand up for themselves a bit under Mickey Ned, this would be a massive result for Kerry if they can win it. Personally, I think Limerick will see this as a big opportunity against a weakened Kerry to put down a marker and don’t rule out a ‘shock’ win for them.
ps. I hope young Sheehan is not risked on Sunday given how tricky knee injuries can be. A slight medial tear! And they list him in the subs? If his not fit to play, his not fit to be in the subs. Dodgy, boys dodgy. That man like Maurice is worth his weight in gold, one of his massive free kicks could win us another All-Ireland yet. We will need that man for the bigger hurdles that lay ahead.

Good win . What did Daragh do ? Great to see Scanlon and Donnacha Walsh doing well . They have been knocking about for a number of years and must be given a chance .After yesterday some hope for the future restored .

Great result ! given circumstances at the moment. This result sets us up nicely to achieve a semi-final berth. In addition, Kerry will have a lot of extra players back for the Donegal match, which argue's well for our prospects up there. The Donegal match should be real humdinger but a positive result is well within kerry's compass. Young Walsh, has really put down a marker! great to see. Good to see Scanlon ceasing the moment as well. Finally, once again Mike Frank demonstrated what a class act he is. All in all, great heart from our fellas today especially after Dara's sending off, we can't ask for much more than that.

MFR was great but the game was scrappy enough. Limerick and cork always seem to bring out a differnet side of us.haha. Donnach was great and scanlon played well. Over all the new players did well good to see that even missing all the regulars due to injury u-21 committments red cards and holidays we have an impressive young bench. Well done.

Great heart after Daras sending off. MFR led by example, what can you say, our legends die hard. Long may he continue. Quirke did well at midfield when he came out and to be fair he was making the runs when at full-forward yesterday too. I'd like to see him at midfield the next day with maybe Tommy moving to centre-forward just to see how that would work.

MFR. is a class kerry footballer who is just starting to find his feet again after the shambolic treatment of previous seasons.
His goal v fermanagh set the trend for that game, his goal yesterday secured two what will become priceless league points and his two points v mayo in the all-ireland final set the thrend for that game.
it galls me when i still hear people wright him off as a footballer, the better mfr becomes this year the more potent the kerry attack will become.

Well done to MFR is right. I honestly didn't think he'd prove that he still has it this year, but I'm starting to change my mind.
Slowly but surely people (me included) dribbling back onto the forum.

Slowly but surely people (me included) dribbling back onto the forum. if you look back at the videos of kerrys last three games in'06 you will see than mfr was superb in them. Its amazing how quickly the previous management went running back to him when they ran out of options. i never lost faith in mike, dropping him for the '05 semi was shamefull,i dont understand how you could say that you didnt think he would be up too it this year.I can see him even getting better this year. i feel just as strongly about fitzmaurice,we might need him yet in defence this year,we know what tom, marc, aidan and tomas can do,personally i think playing eamonn at centre back for the league would have been a good investment for later on.Were light enough on options for defence if we lose another proven performer or two.

Fitzmaurice pulled a hammer yesterday. More ammo for those of us quering the injury situation this year as opposed to 3 years under JAck and Pat. Don't remember a hamstring injury under jack.

Not a one that I can remember Seamus......Mike McCarthy had his injury, Seamus his and Daragh his, but they were all bone related.......I can't remember other types of injury much.
Welcome back Kerryman.....good to have one of our senior correspondants back.
As to MFR's form, great to hear he is beginning to show form of old on a consistant basis again. Not matter what people say along the lines of "I always believed in him etc", the fact of the matter is, he wasn't performing, and any chance he got in 2004, 2005 and the early part of 2006, he wasn't able to produce consistantly good performances. So he was right to be dropped. He'd tell you that himself. But he is beginning to produce consistantly good performances again and thus deserves his place on the team.

We all know that MFR is class. His form slips now and then. He is a confidence player. I admire him greatly for sticking with it when things werent going well. I always felt that the retirement of Maurice Fitz was bad news for MFR. Remember all the sublime footpasses that Maurice gave MFR....... v CAVAN in 1997 and Armagh in 2000 are just two that spring to mind. All MRFR had to do what put the ball in the net. Together they operated on a different planet. MFR is not great at winning independent ball over his head and that was why the link with Maurice was so important.
