they also tried jacko at fullback in the league sometime around '90,'91,mickey linden ended the experiment after one game in austin stacks tralee where he proceeded to devore him for lunch. It doesnt always workout.jacko was moved to the other end of the pitch fairly quickley.
the backs concern me this year,it might be a weak point on the team, remember micko moving tom spillane from no.11 to centre back, people laughed at him,Tom was comanding there for the three in a row.I wonder could brosnan do the same thing,i'd like o see an athletic presence at no. six surrounded by tight tenacious backs.
the one fullforward line that really jumps out at you is stevie, ronan and oisin,i cant really see reidy and young being dominant against those lads so soon into their developement. No other fullforward line carries the same artilary apart from declan, kieran and colm. next up might be an-other,o neil and mugsy, but i wonder will they have the hunger?,you would strugle to name other full forward lies around the country, mcfadden and deveeny might be worth keeping an eye on. Question is,can we build a fullback line to handle the best fullforward lines thats out there?

Brendan Guiney is not being touted for a place on the team because he has withdrawn from the panel.

I wouldn't let Brosnan anywhere near the No 6 shirt. He's many things but a defender he aint.

Never knew Guiney had pulled out...... As far as i know Ronan Hussey has pulled out too, could someone confirm this???
I heard of another high profile player who was less than impressed with certain aspects of the trip to Dublin and has given a warning.....
Not the best situation to be in for P O Shea but in fairness it has to be remembered that its not easy to keep everyone happy.
Anyone know the full panel at the moment?

I also know of another high profile player who was less than impressed with certain aspects of the trip to Dublin and has given a warning..... ? If the management isnt strong the panel will break into a loose colection of warlords like Afganistan after the Taliban was overthrown.

As far as I know about Guiney is that he did tell the Kerry setup that he is dropping out about 2 weeks ago. Don't get to read Kerry newspapers during college terms so don't know about any articles in Kerry's Eye to the contrary.
It had nothing to do with any trip to Dublin mentioned above by Topcat and was more along the lines of him not wanting to lose out on every summer of his 20's to football. It's a tough decision to make.

Giuney is a work horse at training but never really got a chance to go passed the league any year. I wish him well whatever he decides to do.
