Maybe this can be added to throughout the year. What with all the up's downs (and row's ) that can go on the team I'm sure will change more than once. I'm going to give it a bash with what i think could be our best team with all our players back. Here goes! D.Murphy M.O'Se A.O'Mahony T.O'Sullivan T.O'Se E.Fitzmaurice T.Griffin D.O'Se E.Brosnan P.Galvin Dec. Sullivan S. Sullivan Colm Cooper K.Donaghy M.F.Russell people will probably disagree with my midfield but our backline is lacking this year, and this is why i would select Aidan at fullback too(provided Mike Mac stays retired). I think its a strong fullback line as we have. Plus with Pat's possession game they are all good ball carriers and players. I don't think we loose much swapping Eoin to mid an Griff to wing back both class footballers and would do fine in these positions. Forwards pretty much pick themselves in my opinion. Any comments welcome(good or bad

thats a fair old stab at it in fairness pony, you proberly wont be too far out at the end of the day.
griffen would strengten up the backs with seamus and mike gone, two strong wing backs there,Eamonn doesnt seem to be considered an option for centre back any more, thats a pity.
i wonder how would dara react to brosnan midfield with him, brosnan had great games there v mayo '04,06.
i've a feeling bryan sheehan will make a big push for a place this year on the wing, his free taking is a massive asset to the team,i think he might just make it this year. dareen and sean sull would be great interchange players to bring in,both have great speed.
summer time comes in the morning with the clocks moving forward, hopefully it will stir the juices in mike mac before long,he is far too great a defender to be sitting at home at 28 years of age, there will be plenty of time for that in a few years time.
just an observation, eoin brosnan has never won an all-ireland as a forward, both coming at midfield,he has always done well for kerry there.
if it means moving a few players around to new positions to get the best fifteen on the pitch so be it,micko was the master of that and it kept players fresh with new challenges all the time.

Theres no room for Sheehan on my team, wouldnt change much from last years 15 if possible.Hard to pick though as it will depend on form, injuries etc....

I think killian young may re appear and I would not rule out Donnach Walsh just yet either. But I will agree that Kerryeye team it the way it will most likely go

I don't know about Dara bing captain - he thinks there's piseog on him if he's captain! Captain or no captain he's the leader anyway.
I'm not saying this is my preferred championship team but I'd have liked to see this team play during the league. Quirke isn't a man for long range distribution but he doesn't need to be, he can just use his quick hands to offload the ball to any of the halfbacks who like to burst forward.
Murphy M O Se, T O Sullivan, P Reidy T O Se, A O Mahony, T Griffin D O Se, M Quirke P Galvin, E Brosnan, S O Sullivan C Cooper, K Donaghy, MFR

Swap Scanlon for Quirke and you have my team. I think we would not have enough mobility with quirke and darragh midfield. Only concern would be frees but mfr, sean sullivan and cooper can all take them. Its against all my principles to have a player on the KERRY team just for frees.

Watching some of the Crokes games would make this look a decent option to have...
Murphy M O Se, T O Sullivan, P Reidy T O Se, E Brosnan, A O Mahony D O Se, T Griffin P Galvin, C Cooper, S O Sullivan D Quill, K Donaghy, MFR

The League has left a few options or holes....to be filled..
There is no one who could say....this or that team will be the strongest 15 come Championship time. Some questions remain.
And we will need a few tests to know for sure..
The team that I think will start the Championship will be
D.Murphy
M.O'Se T.O'Sullivan Padraig Reidy
T.O'Se Aidan O Mahoney D Bohane
D.O'Se T Griffin
P.Galvin E.Brosnan D Sullivan
Colm Cooper K.Donaghy D Quill
Cooper will come deep a lot more and will be more of a creator along with DOS I think...Galvin will be the workhorse....and Brosnan...the man bursting through.... Quill will have a great Championship if given the chance I would say...
Quirke is a real option at midfield along with Scanlon and Sheahan may be introduced for frees if needed in the half forward line.. If Bohane fails to make the grade...Griffin can go back....and the back up at midfield be brought in!!
The other two Sullivans I excluded can be brought on during games to inject more pace into the attack when the games open up....
I think this team will take some beating this year again!!

Would have liked to see Reidy Sullivan Young,T O Shea O Mahony, M Shea as six defenders behind Darragh Tommy Declan, Eoin, and Paul. Call it Blanket Attack. Finish off with Colm Star and MFR/Quill. Bring on Darren, Sean just to keep up the momentum as games progress. Could be interesting. Murph between the sticks of course.

i was thinking over the weekend that he mighten bother to return next year after the selection for the dublin game was released.I'm not surprised he pulled out now,he has handled this well with class just like the way he always played for kerry, and never let them down at centr back,he deserved far better.
