fermanagh and monaghan brought ye to replays in the early rounds in ulster last year bigmac, donegal will be a totally different game this year,After two moderate league seasons in succession how do you think this one will go?. well their allready sayin this could be a classic but its a hard 1 to call.donegal are flying at the mo but have a habit of not being consistant, armagh will ask no quarter nor give any but we have to remember that the championship is a very different comp from the league.i can only go with my own

youd have to feel at this early stage that donegal will go in as favourites to win bigmac but you wouldnt put the house on them either,a narrow armagh victory wouldnt surprise me.
Whats the story with all the crucicates up there, wear and tear or bad luck.
i see from taking a peek at yere forum that geezer is being suggested for no.6 with marsden all 11.replacements must be slow coming through?

i suppose francie is a living ledgend in cross bigmac, part of folklore, a kind of mystical cuculan type dude who rides into training on his black stalion every evening, gun slung over shoulder, cigar in the mouth, stubbled and unwashed for a week.

The five secrets behind Donegal league success Tuesday April 24th 2007 ADVERTISEMENT
Midfield power NEIL GALLAGHER may have an ungainly presence, but he's a powerhouse nonetheless and is complemented superbly by the industrious Kevin Cassidy whose conversion from half-back, where Donegal had a plentiful stock, to midfield has been one of the season's success stories so far.
Gallagher's aerial prowess and Cassidy's drive have placed Donegal's midfield among the best in the game.
Confidence SUCCESS breeds success and Donegal's unbeaten league run over nine games will do wonders for their belief. The statistic that links league title winners with All-Ireland semi-finalists and finalists over the last five years has to auger well for them.
Donegal teams had lost nine consecutive league and Ulster championship finals since 1992 and even if most of the present playing personnel had only been involved in a portion of those final defeats, the uplifting effect on the county should be significant.
Change of style IT may not be as pronounced or as dramatic as it has been portrayed, but Donegal are kicking the ball longer and more directly than they have done in the past and are clearly reaping the benefits.
That's not to say that their more tailored short game hasn't served them well. It has. But the variation is appealing and inside forwards like Brendan Devenney and Colm McFadden are not as easily tied up.
Personnel YOU simply won't win major trophies unless you have the right personnel and the right back up.
Brian McIver astutely observed that it was a trio of substitutes that landed the last three scores to pull them clear of Mayo on Sunday.
McIver also accepted that all shoulders had to be to the wheel this year and that Kevin Cassidy, Brendan Devenney and Colm McFadden would have to be enticed back.
And behind a strong midfield are two of the best defenders in the game at present, Karl Lacey and Barry Dunnion, highly capable closing out dangerous opponents who can turn a game in an instant. Not every team has that type of defender. Donegal appear to have two.
Discipline RUMOURS have a quicker download speed in Donegal than in probably any other strong football county and tales of indiscipline have never been slow to circulate over the last number of years.
At times, they have been exaggerated and at other times they have been no worse than what players have got up to in other counties. But for the best part of this season, the Donegal players have had their heads down without distraction.

I think Armagh will go far this year...a good value each way bet. I also think they will beat Donegal Donegal have certainly set themselves up, but if they dont win Ulster this year at least, then they never will. The stakes are high, but this has to be the year. It's also just the kind of situation where the likes of Down will spring from the longest of long grass........
