If the standard in Kerry, Tyrone and Armagh drops back to the level below of say Cork, Dublin, Mayo, Donegal, Galway, Laois........... and you had four close quarter finals, two close semi finals and a close final albeit not as high standard ............would it be better? That's an arch question! Standard is of course important, I thought I had made that clear? But if it's always the same one or two teams, then it becomes, of course, boring for most people & disaffecting for those not challenging. I feel the standard is always good, and whatever teams reach the final, and whatever team wins, has reached a very high standard, but last year unfortunately Mayo completely flopped in the final, Cork never do it against Kerry in Croker, Tyrone had a non-year, and this year so far neither Tyrone nor Dublin nor Cork have done anything

Could you not have a case of the likes of Kerry, Tyrone and Armagh falling back, yet the standard also improved? Or is a case for all the other teams haven't a snow balls chance in hell of winning unless ye disimprove? I caught the last few minutes of the Mayo and Galway game yesterday and it seemed a pretty high standard for this time of the year. Or is it only a high standard if it is hard and tough? That's like saying unless Cork and Kilkenny are in the final the standard of hurling is poor.

I was kind of saying that anyway Abue, that whichever team emerges from the struggle, with Sam in hand, has reached a very high level. They must have, as there are always at least two teams of a very high standard. Except for Mayo in last year's final.......

I supose the 2005 KY vs Tyrone was a good game even though the result did not go our way, but it was down to the wire.

it was a classic in my book, the level of power play from tyrone, and i mean that in a good sence, might not be matched again in croker on all-ireland final day for a long time.

Games are media hyped so much anymore that punters are let down cause for the last few years lacked any major footabll bar 2005. I agree Kerry gold it will be a game not matched for a while,

Who said anything about "great game"?? You asked me about "thrilling championship", but all you can see is what involved Kerry, talk baout self-absorbed! 2005 was a great championship, end of story, the stats are there to prove it, or the tv-footage, whatever you prefer. And by the way, we Dubs have been invoved in so many "great games" where we lost, but funnily enough so many "awful dirty games" where we won, that you really cant put on the poor mouth, sure the whole media are in your pocket all the time, "great, pure Kerry football" every time they win....but god forbid they lose, its been a bad year, a famine, a catastrophe!
