Sorry lads, but i just dont get the whole quirke thing.
1) Got his chances at full forward, and handels the ball like its a hot spud.produced nothing
2) He is exactly the kind of player you dont want parnering Dara in midfield. Why?
Dara for me is and excellent for want of a better word "holding" midfielder with great ditribution.
His best midfield partners down the years have been more attacking midfielders (Kirby,Daly and bros).
Quirke doesn't have this aspect to his game. He is a fine fielder when in midfield and has a little more space. For me anyway its either midfield or nowhere(preferably nowhere).
No room for him in the team as long as Dara is about anyway.
Think Griffin or Scanlon will be there when we gets nearer c'ship time.

Pillar has stuck by the same fifteen for the kerry game in parnell park, from the mayo match.
he said during the week in the press that dublin played verry well at times in that game and playing against the wind and the sending of cost them the game.

Dublin manager Paul Caffrey has announced an unchanged line-up for Sunday’s NFL Division 1A clash with Kerry at Parnell Park.
Conal Keaney was sent off in last weekend’s defeat to Mayo, but is eligible to play as he was issued with two yellow cards. Dublin, who trail Kerry by a point in the division, will have to beat the All-Ireland champions to be assured of retaining the top flight status, although a draw would be enough to keep them up in the event of Mayo beating Tyrone in Omagh.
Dublin (SF v Kerry): S Cluxton; D Henry, R McConnell, P Griffin; B Cahill, B Cullen, G Brennan; C Whelan, D Magee; C Moran, J Sherlock, C Keaney; B Brogan, K Bonner, T Quinn.

Kerry will put out the strongest possible team. Pony, I can't see Quill being dropped. He has played all the league games and he has done well. The lad would surely pack it in again if he got dropped as soon as the gooch came back. I would like to see Marc Tom Reidy Tomas Fitz Mahoney Dara Scanlon Sean Sull Brosnan Galvin Quill Gooch MFR Scanlon did enough the last day in the second half to get a start. I have a feeling that Tommy Griffin could be out with a hammer. I would love to see Gooch orchestrating things from 14 and moving in and out to create space. However, i think that Pat O'Shea will not pick Fitz at 6 and go with Lyons or Guiney on the wing. I also think he could pick Brosnan at 14 and play him in the Crokes role supplementing midfield. I'd agree with yer team there but would have Griffin in for Scanlon if not injured. I think Tommy has proved himself more for Kerry. He just had an off day last week.

Dublin blew Cork away in Parnell Park and when the dubs hit top gear they can be brilliant.
If they strike form they can beat Kerry. They will be very motivated on their on patch.
A lot will depend on how Gooch and Brosnan are after last week. Without Donaghy the Kerry forwards are manageable.
I have a feeling that the Dubs will win this one.

You could be right there Mick. It will be close enough. However I caught sight of the Mayo/Dublin game on Setanta and Dublin were brutal in second half. They badly need a target man in the inside line.

If the kerry inside forward line struggle against this Dublin defence they may pack it in. Quill and MFR if selected will need to put in a solid performance if they have any championship ambitions.

Crokes duo in for Kerry 06 April 2007
Dr Crokes stars Eoin Brosnan and Kieran O’Leary make their first starts of the season for Kerry in Sunday’s NFL Division 1A clash with Dublin at Parnell Park.
Kingdom boss Pat O’Shea has made three changes from the side that drew with Tyrone last weekend, with Darren O’Sullivan also coming into the starting line-up.
Brosnan replaces Eamonn Fitzmaurice at centre forward, and will be flanked by the fit-again O’Sullivan who takes over from Donnacha Walsh. O’Leary is named at left corner forward with Mike Frank Russell dropping to the bench.
Positional changes see Daniel Bohane switch from left half back to centre back in a direct swap with Aidan O’Mahony, while team captain Bryan Sheehan moves from right half forward to left half forward to accommodate the introduction of Brosnan and O’Sullivan.
Kerry (SF v Dublin): D Murphy; M O Se, T O’Sullivan, P Reidy; T O Se, D Bohane, A O’Mahony; D O Se, T Griffin; Darren O’Sullivan, E Brosnan, B Sheehan; D Quill, S Scanlon, K O’Leary.

I would have liked to see Eamonn fitz get his chance at centre back aswell,he played there for 5 years and didnt put a foot wrong in my opinion. It was a worth a try last year by jack puttin him in the forwards but it was not too succesful, when seamus retired we would have expected him to get his chance there and to try and re-establish himself with aidan and tomas on the wings.think he has got a raw deal and the selectors were just tryin to keep him happy by givin him a few runs in the forward line.never gonna be there come championship.

Finding it hard to get myself up for this game at all, a win will feel very hollow, a defeat will leave the blue & navy ship on the brink of capsizing. Hope it's a very competative game, but without the play-offs at stake, it will be hard to tell much. Will be great to see The Kingdom in PP again, to see class players & folk-heros play in the little stadium has a magic all its own. Catser & Collie have been the bright sparks lately, Bill Cullen struggling, hope to see Ross O'Connell properly tested by the full Kerry armoury. Enjoy it if you're going, Rashers Tierney Esq & Co. Ltd will be displaying & showcasing the finest of wares outside and in Kavanaghs after. Up de Dubs! Kerry is the finest of counties!

Nice to see K. O'Leary gat a chance in the corner, was very impressed with him for crokes this year and it will be interesting to see how he gets on. shame they arent giving fitzy a chance at centre back,he would be more of a presence there that Bohane and alot more experienced. Think its wise to give gooch a rest and bring him off the bench then if needs be!
