Who's the better player right now? I think Mossy wins more ball and scores more hard-won scores. MFR better passer, and can kick longer points

MFR has better plyers around him which makes it a bit easier

I'm not sure about that. Ok so Cooper is better than anyone we've got, but the others? We need a Galvin, I think Bonner could be that. For Brosnan see Keaney or Jayo or Brogan, all at least as good, Keaney possibly better. We dont have a Donaghy, but Keaney, Mossy, Brogan, Bonner, even Jayo are all good leapers & ball-winners. If Vaughan could get a proper run at it I think we'd have the best all-round forward unit

Theres a touch of magic about the dublin forwards............. they disappear at vital stages in the white heat of championship football

Are you for f**king real rashers? Comparing Eoin Brosnan to Jayo or Conal Keaney. Those players operate at no where near the standard of what eoin does on form. Jayo had one great season in 95 and he shows flashes every now and again. I still think keaney has to prove himself. Id say in total Brosnan has nearly scored more in the championship and hes not even round half as long as jayo

Eoin Brosnan scored eight goals for kerry in '06 in competitive football and was thus deemed to be not good enough to start for kerry in the final.
I'd say he would cruise onto any forward line in the country to be honest.

I'm sure we could all examine stats from every game of the teams that do well, and find games where they didnt score for long spells, so what, it's the result that matters. As for All-Ireland medals, I am talking about individual players THIS YEAR, so again, taking the lazy answer of throwing medal stats at it is not the argument. Same goes for your point about "6 better forwards" - I didnt say that, I said if Vaughan got in and proved himself, we could have the best ALL-ROUND FORWARD UNIT. Now try to remember, I'm talking about THIS YEAR, and we have players who are improving and only coming to their peak........ Mossy, Keaney, Bonner, with Connolly, Vaughan, B Brogan, Lally, Cosgrove, Murray, Connell all waiting in the wings. When you add in the established A Brogan, Jayo then it's shaping up well

Composure wasnt great last year, yet he still did very well. He suffered the typical dip of a player who was being raved about the year before. He is just starting to find form now, experience is key for him. Jayo is a top class player in all aspects except taking long-range points, he just doesnt have the power, and lacks physique to knock defenders off him. His all-round game is otherwise brilliant, consistently, and he doesnt fade out of games. He has never got much credit because his first year was always seen as "champagne pop-star" and because he's "a bit foreign". I'd contest that his distribution and his fighting qualities over 70 minutes are at least as good as some of the Kerry forwards And neither you nor kerrygloat nor mickmock answered the question about MFR & Mossy

personally i rate jayo very highly and think he has never got the credit he deserves country wide and from within dublin either.
i think keaney has the makings of a top class forward for dublin,i rate alan brogan a top class forward,he is class on his day.
i was disappointed with boner at full forward v tyrone in the league game,he won nothing that day at fullforward, certainly didnt dominate his position or man.
connolly started brightly v tyrone and shows plenty of flair but faded when the game became intense v tyrone,he might take a year or two to come on.
i havent seen dublin play since the tyrone game so i cant really comment on them as regard to this year yet,but i'd say of all the teams dublin have played this year the tyrone game is possible the bench to judge from.
time will tell, vaughan has ability alright but has he got the temperment to match it,sometimes its more about heart and temperment rather than pure footballing skill.
the dublin forwards as a set still have to prove themselves in my opinion over a season,i'm not sure you will get that from players like cosgrove, vaughan, connelly.
this is a big year for pillar and dublin,we wait with baited breath.

i agree fully about sherlock,if all the dublin players had his heart dublin would win more.
to answer your question,i'd take mfr over mossie to be honest, but sure you'll proberly accuse me of being biased. I think mfr has more too his game as regards a score getter and distributer of the ball.mossie has an eye for goal all right but so has mfr, both playing out of their skins of the cuff i'll still take mfr.

You biased KG - never! Thanks for the replies, I agree with just about all I think MFR is pure class, and said it last year and before when he was written off, but I do agree with those who say he hasnt been as effective as he could be, probably down to confidence - he often has that look about him, sort of downcast or something, like he's telling himself "I cant do it" Still, he proved he could do it last year I think Mossy is consistently effective and confident, and gets alot of "hard scores", he also wins more ball than MFR I never really rated Cosgrove from a composure point of view, though undoubtedly he has great talent, but mentally I feel he isnt quite focused enough at the highest level, and enjoys the limelight a bit too much Vaughan I feel has yet to really be given a chance (lately injury has kept him out), and experience might see him make the grade I forgot of course to mention Dotsie O'Callaghan, who has looked good so far this year. We also have Colin Prenderville (All-I Under 21 winner) and Pat Burke to come into the forwards
