Some good games here...
My predictions are:
Lispole skellig kenmare ballylongford Moyvane Renard Valentia Tarbert
think the winner of the tarbert beale game will go on and win it out, both teams are flying this year..kenmare wont be far off it either.

Lispole Skellig Rangers Kenmare Ballylongford Glenbeigh/Glencar St. Pat's Valentia Beale
Also agree that the winner of Beale V Tarbert should win it out. The Kerry champs will probably be favourites to go all the way. Duagh shocked all by winning last year. I expect we will have a stronger representative this year with all due respect to Duagh.

TARBERT. Go on the red and black. Never think I was from there.haha. I agree beale and tarbert are the strongest in the bunch and the winner of the game should go on to win it all. Anyway I would like to wish Skinny, paddy and all the lads very best.

I think north kerrys domination in this competition will come to an abrupt end this year. There are plenty of other teams in the competiton that would make tarbert and beale look very ordinary, i.e. Lispole, Kenmare & Skellig Rangers

I think north kerrys domination in this competition will come to an abrupt end this year. There are plenty of other teams in the competiton that would make tarbert and beale look very ordinary, i.e. Lispole, Kenmare & Skellig Rangers Can't see how you can make that statement. Tarbert have already beaten Lispole and Skellig (away) this year. Beale beat Lispole twice last year including in the junior and Kenmare away in the league. I agree North Kerry dominance could end. There may only be one strong NK team left after the weekend as Ballylongford and Moyvane are poor enough. Ballyduff could well take care of Lispole, both are not going too well so far but If Ballyduff do prevail they will be dangerous later on in the competition.

Agree podge about Balyyduff. the Duffers never say die attitude is dangerous. I do however feel that Tarbert and Beale are the 2 tops. I feel Tarbert are more than ready for this. To be fair to tarbert they could have made it into division 3 last year if it was not for the number of players who travelled for the summer. Tarbert were without Enright due to the minors Langan and kelliher in NY Denis Kiely in Auz etc just to name a few.

Plenty of shocks in both competitions, a very bad day for South Kerry teams. The following is the Tarbert report on their one point victory over Beale. Tarbert are now the team to beat in this competition.
Beale 0-08 Tarbert 0-09
This first round County Junior Championship match played on Sunday last in ideal conditions and on an excellent Ballybunion pitch ended in a one point win for Tarbert. Tarbert determined to make amends for the defeat by the same opposition in a replay in Tarbert in 2006 got off to a good start with two well worked points by John Kelliher and Kieran Deenihan after only 10 minutes and playing against a stiff breeze. Beale were back on level terms after a point from a 45 and a point from play – which set the tone for the rest of the match. This was real championship football with no quarter asked or given by either side and definitely not a match for the faint hearted ,Two further points by Patsy O’Connell – one from a free and a lovely punched effort that went over the bar left Tarbert leading by the narrowest of margins at half time – 4pts to 3pts. The second half continued at the same frenetic pace and intensity as the first half with John Kelliher send over two lovely points from play with Seanie Wren, a player who is getting better and better with every game , sending over an excellent point from play midway through the second half. Beale then capitalised with some well taken points from frees with Tarbert’s discipline on the pitch – especially in been extra vocal on some of the referees decisions and giving Beale every opportunity to get back and into the game. Ambrose Lanigan sealed victory for Tarbert with two well taken points from frees to push Tarbert over the line by the narrowest of margins. A great team performance by Tarbert with the half back line of Donnacha Enright, Shane Enright and Eugene O’Connell putting in a five star performances. Owen O’Connell had another outstanding performance in the Tarbert jersey with both Seanie Wren and John Kelliher outstanding up front. This was a great team performance and one that Tarbert senior team must build on especially in their efforts in the county league. The Tarbert Team were Tommy Barrett, Stevie Deenihan, Jonathan Wren, Darragh Lanigan, Donnacha Enright, Shane Enright, Eugene O’Connell, Owen O’Connell John O’Connell, Kevin Wren, Seanie Wren, Ambrose Lanigan, Johm Kelliher, Kieran Deenihan and Patsy O’Connell. No subs used on the day. This match was a real battle between two fit, strong and full of running teams- nonetheless the sportsmanship of the Beale team immediately after the game has to be highly commended and admired. Tarbert’s next match in the county league is on Sunday 27th May in Shannon Park – a date for the diary

Wel lads almighty and god forgive me for swearin but twas some cracker between Tarbert and beale. Mother a god the sheer heart of both teams up to the final whistle. It was not just a game of football, it was a battle of hatred, rivalry and unsettled scores. But the one score that mattered at the end was the point that separated the two teams and made Tarbert victorious. Sean wren and dat blonde fella up front (that looks like graham gerathy) Kelliher i think?? are two players that are better and better every time i see them. Enright was injured but as solid as a rock as usual. John connel was like a machine. Eoin o connel was making great runs with the ball in midfield. A great team effort over all.
