What about Tomas getting taken off after kicking 2 massive points? Radio kerry made a big fuss out of it. Would like the view of someone at the game as you often don't pick these things up from the TV.

Would like the view of someone at the game as you often don't pick these things up from the TV. i was up there seamus,i've a feeling they might have been keeping a eye on his hammer,he proberly has done very little training over the last few weeks,no point in straining anything. pat went up to him and gave him a big pat on the back of the head and spoke to him as he went down the tunnel,i wouldnt read too much into it,proberly looking at the bigger picture.Tomas didnt seen too happy coming of,he put a huge effort into the game.

Well, there is no need to over react to yesterdays result. Between Kerry having started late back to training, players missing out, bedding new players in, it is fair to say Kerry are a work in progress at the moment. However, there is still plenty to ponder on for Pat O’Shea and the management team. One thing that has not gone away and has been hanging around like a bad smell over this Kerry team for the last 2 or 3 years is how susceptible they are to giving up goal chances. Kerry at times are cut open far too easily particularly down the middle of our defence. Not alone yesterday but in last years All-Ireland final for example only Moynihan going back in a sweeper role saved us from conceding at least two more goals. Now some would like Eamon Fitzmaurice returned to centre back, now with all due respect to Eamon who has been a fantastic servant to Kerry football, he no longer has the pace for such a pivotal position though he still remains a valuable squad addition, plus a player we know can come in for the last 10 minutes of a game. I am becoming more and more convinced that O’Mahony is worth a try at full back, plus either trying Brosnan at centre back or Tommy Griffin. In addition, it was a pity that Young is out injured as yesterday would have been a great test for him before the Championship. Personally, I’m not too bothered about the league this year, if Kerry can get one more win out of the next two games that should do us. The Munster Championship will be tricky this year, Limerick will be organised and there is now some bad blood with Kerry, Paidi will have Clare jumping over cows, and as for ‘Bitter’ Morgan and Cork no words are necessary. I for one would like our Munster title back! Come on kerry.

Kerry lacks the training and it showed yesterday. They were waiting for a manager for weeks them the trip to Auz home and almost right into the league. I know you can beat games but there fitness is off. Sean Sullivan tomas back from injury. Galvin trained 3 times prior to the game. He is one man that never seems to tire but very apparent yeaterday, How hurt is Star?? Donnagh?? Any update there

Lots of questions still to be answered for Pat at his team.....but if somebody can tell me how Eamon Fitzmaurice, at the age of 28 is being cast aside because he doesn't have the pace, they're some analyst for one analyst!!
Put it this way, some of the best half backs in Gaelic Football weren't exactly renowned for their blinding pace. Eamon should be given another go there instead of consecutive Kerry managements trying to make him into a Gaelic scitzophrenic playing all over the place.
He is one of the most intelligent footballers on the Kerry panel with a pin point boot that only Daragh O'Se and Gooch can match at times - in my honest opinion.

In all fairness, stacks, I don't think Eamon Fitz has been cast aside, his still a valuable member of the squad even if his not a regular starter. However, certainly all options must remain open if as others have pointed out kerry end up to being vunerable in defence when been ran at and giving up goal chances.

I was very encouraged to see Tomas o Shea play well.......... its like getting a new player as alex Ferguson said a few years ago when Roy Keane came back from injury.
Lessons to be learned.......... Donaghy at 14 is essential. Dara will be impossible to replace. Moynihan's departure will cost kerry a few crucial scores in tight games.
i still dont know what to make of Brian Sheehan. He looks a bit unathletic. Dunno what his best position is.
Will Donegal be playing football at the end of august in Croke PARK...... probably not

A dangerous assumption Mick.....a very dangerous assumption to make. To me they have the look of a team that will keep going.....they have been August material almost every year since 2002.

Eamon at half back a must the next game. I agree with Stacks he is solid. Pace not really needed. More brawn. He has that. I think Donegal will be around this year. Don't know if they will go to Aug. As always the strong counties never out out their full team in the league where as Donegal have done. Kerry have work no doubt but I would not be overly concerned right now. More training needed and with games as well it will stand to them. I am however concerned with the amount of injuries we have picked up so far. I hope the trend does not continue. I understand some are avoidable but.. Me thinks they have to go back and look at training used last year and see whats different other than the trainer.

Just watched the game on Setanta.
Where would we be without Darragh O'Shea?? The guy is phenomenal. Tommy Griff had an off day. I for one would like to give Brosnan a run at midfield.
Murphy was top class , great saves , great kick outs and clearances with fisted 30 yard pass.
Galvin needs football. Reidy, Scanlon, Mossy look worrying to me. Wouldn't worry about Tom Sull or Mahony. Jury still out on Walsh - needs a bit of beefing up. Sheehan to be on championship team - no worries. Not so sure about Quilly. Sean Sull - needs plenty training. Mike Frank, as per last year drop him at your peril. Welcome back Darren.
Devenney was exceptional but ref favoured him on a few occasions. Donegal will be there or there abouts in August, in my view.
