Liverpool win on penos. The though of Liverpool winning it again is horrible, awful.
Theres something wrong with the Champions League when a side as poor as Liverpool could win it twice in 3 years. Two years ago they werent even the best team in LIVERPOOL

better than murinhno and drogba winning it all the same,a great service was done to football tonight.Liverpool are a great club with a massive tradition, maybe roman needs to learn that you should buy places like anfield, old trafford,ac milans san siro, nou camp and real madrids patch. the atmosphere was incrediable at anfield, the kop sang to their hearts content and sent jose sailing the wrong way down the mersey leaving a sea of emotion behind him. hopefully man u can match the feat to-morrow night,if your a football fan,it will be one of the great footballing nights in europe.Thats what were all after for a footballing fix, great nights, great footballing occassions.
Hard to see chelsea beating arsenal at the weekend after this.

At least Chelsea won the league a few times which does display character etc over 38 games.
liverpool to me look like a team whose only ambition is to win the champion league and they pick and choose the matches that they perform in apart that those matches. Theres something flawed in that dont you agree.
It should be harder to in the champions league that the FA cup and at the moment it isnt. In my view only the top two teams in the league should qualify. Maybe then Liverpool might try to play in a few more league matches.
If Liverpool have such a proud tradition why are thy treating the premiership with such disdain

liverpool didnt have 500 million to lavish out on players ad lib.
two premiership titles is failure in the eyes of chelsea owners /plaything/past time.A small return on half a billion investment,do you not agree?,achieved at a time when there was no compition in the premiership with united rebuilding.
the champions league is the holy grail for the leading managers, the only currency they judge greatness by.Fergie will feel he has underachieved if he doesnt win another one. Its liverpools right to cut their cloth to measure, football is a busniess, great businesses do what it takes to survive in the real world,no point in going under to appease sentiment or romantic notions.fair fcuks to them.
Murinhno, the special one, has failed at chelsea dispite having vast sums of money to spend,on the other hand liverpool, arsenal and hopefully now united have reached champion league finals on meer tiny budgets compared to chelsea based on the sound old principals of football.
If united win tonight you will have one of the great footballing occassions, akin to a kerry v dublin all-ireland final or a tipp v cork munster hurling final in gaa terms when both teams feel they can win. As a football junkie i cant wait for that.
personally i feel it would be a better competition if only the winners from the leagues around europe were allowed into the champion league. But football is a big businness, its all about gererating games and money

by far the better team, either united were tied or else not good enough,i've felt all season its the latter. They have done well domestically but chelsea's form has dipped this season in the premiership.Theres a lot of united players not up to the class to beat the great footballing clubs across europe, brown, ferdinand, fletcher,o shea, ronaldo, carrick, while scholes, giggs ,nevil will age over the next season or two.

take a read of tommy colons article from to-days sunday indo mickmack from his article the couch,it backs up what you are saying. Yeah...... thanks for directing me to that. The UTV lads said that Scoles was poor apart from his chip in for Rooneys goal while the RTE lads thought he was superb. Tommy Conlon makes a vary salient point as follows; "The RTE lads werent looking at at Ronaldos performance, they were looking at their own prejudices. Its what psychologists call "Conformation Bias". You have a set opinion on some one or some thing and you look for evidence that confims that opinion". Thats sums it up nicely and, lets face it, its something we all do i wonder will eamonn sweeney, tommy colon and others address this topic again in the sunday papers or will they let it lie under the carpet. They look foolish now. Ronaldo has never convienced me as a players, too much crap attached to his game and image,a bit like becham for the last 6 or 7 years of his career. Sometimes people dont like to hear the truth but like to be swept along on a public wave of europhia and opinion and get angry when great footballing people like brady, giles and dunphy call it as it really is.To quoate dunphy tonight,"kaka is the reality, ronaldo is the bluff". the first three things ronaldo tried to do tonight were cynderella like by someome living in a fantasy bubble of hype. keano called it right in the tv program that led to his exit from old trafford,he usually calls it right, but then again people dont like to hear the truth at times.

Looks like both finalists will finish 3rd or 4th in their own league. Both concentrated their efforts on one competition. The authorities must deal with this situation. Its a CHAMPIONS league!!

whats the nub of what they say..........
I dont consider this a great united team. Very surprised that they could win the premiership. Dont think they are good enough to play in champions league final either. But...... they are better than liverpool.
Do u not see any thing wrong with the final being contested by two sides who are not good enough to win their domestic league and effectively picked the matches that they perform in ie european games. I admire united and chelsea for having a go at the lot.
The thought of liverpool as champions of europe in a contradiction in terms
