Just thinking..........
South Kerry have given us Jacko s Shea, Mick o Connell, Mick o Dwyer, Maurice, Declan, Brian Sheehan. John Egan................
North Kerry have given us Jimmy Deenihan, Tim Kennelly, Eamon Breen, Liam Flaherty, Paul Galvin, Eamon Fitzmaurice, Stephan Stack, Bomber, Ogie
Apart from Ogie........ the rest of the North Kerry boys are tough hard men while the boys from the south would be more skillful.
How is that?

The reason that South Kerry men are softer could be down to eating lamb compared to good ould North Kerry beef.

you could add ger lynch and ger o driscoll to that group as well mickmack from south kerry.
the one stricking thing about that collection of names is that all the south kerry players are from midfield towards the goal with the exception of ger lynch.Ger however was very much an attaching wing back whos game full of football, certainly not inthe mould of denihan, kennelly etc.micko also played at wing back but ended up as the top scoring corner forward for kerry.
most of the north kerry names are made up of teak tuff defenders who defended first and asked questions later.
thats an interesting one mickmack, there has to be something in it.
look at kilian young coming through now,not in the mould of your typical north kerry defender but more a footballing corner, wing back maybe more in the mould of ger lynch.
Ps,any player who won 8 all-irelands on the forty cant be considered to have been soft.

No one reaches county standard in kerry unless they are skillfull, extremely fast and fit, and tough. In fairness now lads. And dont tell me paul galvin isnt skillfull. hes an all round player he could play anywhere, he can take his scores. Some animal!

The reaon is simple. The guys from North Kerry love a good oul dose of the black stuff, which those posh south Kerry boys are more G&T and Vodka......

In a game of backs and forwards between those players, my money would be on the North Kerry men ..............

are you saying that every man in north kerry that has doned the green and gold has had no skill, it took more than skill againist teams like tyrone and armagh in the past few year, that why those south kerry boys bottled it.

No........ I am merely saying that the south kerry lads are MORE skillfull. Thats why they are in the forwards and the North Kerry lads are stoppers............ in the backs.............. hard men........... did you ever come across harder men that Tim Kennelly Rip, Eamonn Breem, Laim Flaherty, Paul Galvin etc. By contrast, has there ever been such a collection of skillful palyers as Mick o Connell, Maurice Fitzgerald, Declan, Sheehan, John Egan, Mick o Dwyer, Jacko.
