Re Dara's "hand off/shrug off" part of the problem is the lack of a proper tackle in the game. If he doesn't do that whats he going to do let himself be swallowed up? Some how I can't see Dara getting swallowed up anytime soon.

Well that rules brosie and the gooch out for next weekend v fermanagh.
murphy. marc,tom,young tomas,fitzmaurice,guiney, dara,tommy, sean sull,sheehan,walsh. quill,donaghy,mfr.
we know what aidan can do,fitz could do with a few games centre back.
any ideas on any new players that could get a run, maybe ronan hussey?
i suppose some of ye would burst yere rear exits laughing for the week if i suggested that brosnan could make a centre back for kerry,he has shown a tendency in the last few games for crokes to defend and sweep accross the back when the crokes were holding out in games.

Brosnan did play as a kind of sweeper today. However he's too much of a threat to move too far away from the oppositions goal.

Heard from one of the lads that Padraig Reidy is flying at the moment and could get a run on Sunday.

hope reidy gets a run. Id rate him higher than killian young to be honest. Hope quirke gets a run at full forward or even a chnace to show at midield with donaghy at full. Can always swap if needed

At the end of the All Ireland, we were all gloating about how much talent we have coming through.
Compared to last July 1st say, how many new faces are in the squad?

The problem is that while we all know the squad players that are knocking around we have never seen em play that much. I can honestly say I dont knowthat much about daniel bohane apart from the few games Ive seen him play. I think maybe kerry shoud kinda jus play a b team in the mcgrath cup and things and see the depth of talent out there. I knw it was covered on the old forum but i actually wouldnt mind seeing stephen wallace getting a bit of training with the kery team to see if he is any good. I know hes old enough but were not exactly blessed with ball winners in the full forward line. Plus if quirke doesnt work and donaghy is still at full forward we need a plan b and maybe even a plan c

why construct major surgery on a team that won an all-ireland by 12 or 13 points and won the their four games at the business end by a combined total of 36 points.
A few tweeks here and there will do.
We should be thank full that we dont have to rush lads like paddy curran, david moran and tommy walshe onto the kerry senior team. They will be better off for it latter on.

Would love to see Fitzmaurice getting a few runs at center back also during the league. When it comes to the business end of the Championship its guys like him that you know you can call upon. Great dedication by the man I must say when others would have just packed things in - deserves lot of respect! I don't see the point seeing that Aidan O'Mahony has the centre back position sown up for the next few years so Fitzmaurice is only get to play CB if AOM is injured or suspended.

I agree. Kerry have a tricky fixture list this year. The games for possible experimentation would be the next couple ( fermanagh and limerick). The remaining games are very tricky (donegal away, tyrone at home and the dubs away) and you will probably see the big guns all out for those. Realistically kerry need to win 4 from 5 to make the semis so a slip against Fermanagh or limerick would be a disaster. I expect to see very solid teams out all through the year with just one or two minor changes for each game.

My team: Murphy Young Sullivan Reidy Tomas Mahony Guiney Dara Griffin Sullivan Fitzmaurice Sheehan Quill Donaghy O'Connor
That gives runs to 3 U21s (would like to see Darren except he is injured) I have rested Marc not on form just to try other guys you could easily put him in full back... You could also try quirke full forward with Donaghy outside..... Sheehan could go to midfield also........
If we dont experiment in the next two games against Fermanagh and Limerick when will we experiment?

What about drafting in a few of the Ardfert boys after their current run ends? They probably deserve some recognition for their achievements. Egan, Wallace and Griffin are the main men in a team that has scored 40 goals in 17 championship games. They could have more to offer than some of the lads at the tail end of the panel who have won nothing. You can't beat big game experience.
