Kerrygold, my old fella was discussing this the other day (not the armada but the gene pool thing). Anyway his theory on the matter is when the bicycle came into vogue that the average height increased due to people moving outside the parish. I'm sure there must be statistics to prove it.

i wonder if they was too much of an infussion of outside blood would the footballing genes built up over many generations in kerry people become diluted and slow down the football production lines from the many small kerry hamletts accross the kingdom of kerry.
Maybe producing generations of kerry footballers is an exact science after all.Just athought for the day.

I know shur Kerrygold. With so many Kerry people in Cork and Dublin, it would never do if long term it was helping the enemy.

Ok,taking kerry people who have migrated from kerry to cork, dublin and around the country, how many of them have produced off spring to win an all-ireland with their adopted county while wedding a spouse from another county,ie kerryman marries dublin woman or visa verse etc, etc.
or second senario, two kerry people married in dublin or cork producing off spring to win an all-ireland medal for their parents adopted county. Are there any examples out there of such off spring.
and finally take the kerry greats down through the generations, who many off the ledgends of kerry football,ie the greats were not fully home grown, home bred, home reared in tiny areas accross kerry by kerry parents solely?.

Kerry and other counties who challenge for sam are the best because the standard required by players to make their senior football team of any club is higher than that of other counties.Watched Glin seniors from Limerick play once and most junior teams in kerry would hammer them.
