Ya wasn't that in the last census? If a few of ye might move back home, ye mightn't be so out numbered. Speaking of which, did ye see Tadhg Kennelly is injured? It was in the Kerry Examiner today.

Mickmack, I just checked the census figure and it's hard to make it out. There are more people living in Kerry then Polish in the country. But I'm sure there is a fine mix of people in Kerry, including Polish. Not to mention the millions of ye around the country. We better do a bit more research on the matter.

SPANISH INFLUENCE IN DINGLE Dingle reached the highest point of its importance in the course of the sixteenth century. It was one of the great trading ports of the south. Continental wine ships and other merchant vessels plied in and out of the harbour, tying up at the Spanish pier, (presently Dingle Marina). Dingle was the main embarkation port for the great pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James at Compostella in Spain. Strong commercial links developed between Dingle and Spain throughout the sixteenth century. Several of the Houses in Dingle were built in the Spanish fashion, with ranges of stone balconies and marble door and window frames. Inserted in the walls of houses in Green Street are stones with curious carvings which are still well preserved. One of these has the date 1586 prominent on it. The others are more ornate and depict birds. It is believed that these stones are survivals from a bygone age and the houses of the Spanish merchants who settled in Dingle at that time.
Tis in the breeding lads

Well the mixing of polish and kerry blood would do the world of good. Ireland but more especially county kerry has a huge amount ot consanguinity. This is because of our small gene pool. Back along the lines our ancestors chose more often than not to marry within their parish or village because travelling was rare, and they did not have cars. Over time the gene pool gets smaller and smaller weakening the bloodline and causing problems. (Consanguinity: The condition of being of the same blood; relationship by descent from a common ancestor; blood-relationship.Most largely seen within the travelling comunity in ireland) POINT: we are all related! We should be more than happy to see other europeans coming into our country and settling here. They might even help undo some of the damage we have done to ourselves.
