Isn't Tohill the worst analyst ever? He never ever makes a call. Useless.

ya,i agree,i think spillane is excellent also, not sure dara should be saying things like, the old order is restore, when kerry won, last year, innocent football to describe sundays football, spillane cut accross him when he tried to defend his assertion that the div'4 teams had their opportunities during the league to avoid their fate. maybe this might come accross as condecending or patronising from a recent all-ireland winning captain from the most successfull county in football to some of the weaker counties, any opinions?

Maybe Dara just hasnt had enough tv experience to know the right thing to say and when to say it remember all the other guys have been commenting on the sunday game for a long time and are not going to be caught out easy...

I enjoy Spillane, but I'll reserve judgement on the "excellent anchorman" opinions for now

Yeah...... i was surprised that dara pursued that line.

Dara is a gentleman he is not as rough around the edges as Spillane.

To be honest, Dara was only saying what we all know to be true.....the old order was restored.....Kerry have won the same number of All Irelands than the next two counties combined!!
As to the league division 4 thing - the county board representatives had time to decide and they voted in favour of the new structure - end of story. They know they haven't a hope of genuinely competing in the All Ireland if they don't do well in the league and are better off focussing on getting results in the Tommy Murphy cup and getting a few wins under the belt, a trip to the States and a happy camp for the winter ahead - helping to prepare for a better league and a chance to grow slowly.

Have to say the odd time I've seen or heard Dara I enjoy listening to him. Spillane on the other hand I feel like catching the tv and throwing it out the window, so I suppose it might depend on where you're from as to how you'll see them. From what I gather from the hurling people, they find it rather annoying to have a Kerry man discussing hurling.

Dara is obviously a much brighter guy than Spillane and that unnerves Spillane. Spillane also tries to be controvertial for the sake of it.
Dara's point about the Division 4 teams was honest. Even if it is not PC to say it.

For me Spillane was an embarrassment as an analysist....... a cross between dumphy and George Hook. At the other side of the desk as an anchorman he is very good and keeps things moving. Michael Lyster is poor at asking probing questions
