Ok, you win...I'm definitely heading to Derrynane/caherdaniel/castlecove within the next few weeks. Haven't been there in a while but have to admit, its my favourite place on earth and I've travelled a fair bit. Your eloquent description of the beauty of South Kerry just reminded me of how long its been since I was back there for a weekend...you should be employed by the tourist board!

if your coming from the killarney side take the mucross/kenmare road out by the killarney lakes and travel onto the molls gap passing ladys view along the way.At the molls gap ,theres an avoca shop, turn right and take the sneem road. You will pass the black valley to your right, after a few miles you leave the sneem road and turn right following the signs for glencar and the ballagh beama gap.Its an incredable drive that will bring you through the afore mentioned gap and on through the ballagh sheema gap/valley also.Eventually you will come on into dromid and on to waterville, derrynane etc.Its a bit off the beaten track but highly recommended if you would like to see a bit of the hidden barren rugged isolated forgotten kerry, the scenery is totally magic and electricfing.I drove through the gaps last weekend, well worth it. If your a fish lover try bridies at the point renard outside caherciveen, its a sea food only restaurant, the fish is superb and totally fresh, the squid is devine.I always feel it goes down better though with 3 or 4 points of guinness.Enjoy the trip, welcome to my kingdom. Ps.make sure you stop at ladys view to have a look.

Kerry 2-13 limerick 8. Great last 15 minutes by kerry.was level wit 20 minutes to go but introduction of Barry j walsh and others changed the game.Midfield of somers and buckley had superb games also.

Missed the Game due to work but that scoreline sounds more like a kerry performance. Who goaled ? I take it that the score line indicates an improved performance at CHB and on the corners !

Yes, improved performance all round. Barry John, very disappointing on wednesday night, was a key figure in turning the game very much Kerrys way on Saturday.Great use of the bench again by John Kennedy et al. Improved performance too from Patrick Curtin...not that he was poor on wednesday night but he is capable of better and he showed it on Saturday. I'd be still concerned about midfield getting pushed about a bit but geat character throughout the team and more than a few very good footballers. Those two games should stand to Kerry...roll on the Munster final.

Shanahan was great at full back. Apparently he would be very good at midfield but he is doing a great job in the full back line. Very solid.
The forwards can improve. Some good players on the team but don't overall look like potential AI winners at this stage. You never know with minors though.
The game was tight untill the final 15 minutes as Kerry lacked the ability to give the final pass. BJ Walsh changed that when he came on. You could see though that Kerry had the better footballers.
PS All the talk of burnout: the gaeltacht players had two games on saturday And Kerry minors played wednesday and saturday. Some guys played with their clubs on saturday and sunday and the minor league semi finals are down for tonight. Some fellows had 4 games in 5 days ITs a joke! How will fellows not be burnt out!
