I thought I'd resurrect this thread as we do, believe it or not, play in the Munster Championship Semi-Final this evening...against Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds. The team announced last sunday is :-
Tomás Mac an tSaoir (An Ghaeltacht) ; Danny O'Sullivan (Capt) (Kerins O'Rahillys), Barry Shanahan (Austin Stacks), Bryan Russell (Spa) ; Micheal Ó Sé (An Ghaeltacht), Paud Costello (Ballyduff), Denis McElligott (Austin Stacks) ; Johnny Buckley (Dr. Crokes), Ian Somers (Currow) ; Barry John Walsh (Kerins O'Rahillys), Kevin Flynn (Laune Rangers), Timothy O'Sullivan (Beaufort) ; Eoin Kennedy (Asdee), Patrick Curran (Moyvane), Jamie Doolan (Dr. Crokes)
Subs: Patrick O'Riordan (Gneeveguilla), Brian O'Leary (Dr. Crokes), Adam O'Reilly (Spa), Joseph Scully (Castlegregory), JB Spillane (Castlegregory), Tom Brosnan (Dingle), Alan O'Donoghue (John Mitchels), Cian Tobin (Spa), Cian O'Connor (St. Michaels/Foilmore).

How is jacks son playing with foilmore and not dromid? Because the family live in ballinskelligs on the edge of st finians bay under the shadow of the skellig michael one of the most beautiull places in south kerry and indeed in the kingdom of kerry. i think jacks wife might be a native of this particular beauty spot just of the ring of kerry.

Well, we came, we saw and we got the life frightened out of us but........we live to fight another day! To be honest, we deserved that second chance and so indeed, do Limerick. Our biggest problems to my mind were in midfield and centre-back. Having said that, if our forwards had taken all the scoring chances they got, we'd have been out of sight. Our subs made a very noticable improvement...in particular Adam O'Reilly and JB Spillane. Both must start on Saturday. Patrick Curtin will need to step up to the mark further. We don';t appear to have a free-taker which is a huge drawback at any level. Cormac Power at centre-forward for Limerick is going to be extremely hard to contain as he was last night so the biggest task in that regard is to identify our best centreback. Our midfield is light weight and although both guys are clearly good footballers, they're pushed around too easy for my liking. Barry John Walsh was a big disappointment...tried for the killer pass too often and it never came off. In fairness, he was trying to move the ball further than the rest but it never came off for him. Limerick tended to defend in numbers in our back line when we were trying to come out with the ball and we were caught in possession a lot which is something that needs to be addressed. The players showed good character to battle away...they got very little from the Waterford referee (no surprise there then!) and provided they knuckle down from the start and kleep the tempo high as they did in spurts last night, I think they'll win saturdays replay.

Just checked it out on munster website, says replay is fixed for saturday at 330 in stacks park.I suppose there arent too many of the minors who will be playin senior championship anyway.
Limerick and Kerry must replay their Munster MFC semi-final after Colm Downes’ last-gasp point earned the Shannonsiders a 0-11 to 2-5 draw at the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday night, May 9.
The replay has been fixed for Tralee on Saturday at 3.30pm. The Kingdom made a dream start when Patrick Curtin goaled after just 20 seconds. Surprisingly, the visitors were not to score again until midway through the half when James Doolin pointed.
In between, county senior panelist Ian Ryan converted a hat-trick of frees to bring Limerick level and a further point from Cormac Power left the sides deadlocked on 0-4 to 1-1 at the break.
Kerry had opened up a 1-5 to 0-5 lead before Eoin Kennedy looked to have settled the issue with a second goal 15 minutes from the end. But Limerick refused to throw in the towel and scores from Gerry O’Toole and Bobby O’Brien had reduced the deficit to the minimum before Downes’ equalizer arrived in injury-time.
Scorers – Kerry: P Curtin and E Kennedy 1-1 each, J Doolan 0-2, A O’Reilly 0-1. Limerick: I Ryan 0-4, C Downes 0-3, C Power 0-2, G O’Toole and B O’Brien 0-1 each.
