Theres some interesting names in the back door all ready.
Two of the leagues form teams are there, kildare and Mayo.
two from the triangle of donegal, armagh and tyrone will join them shortly with one from meath and dublin also.
throw in recent championship performers such as westmeath and fermanagh and traditional power brokers cavan and the climate heats up.
There wont be too many soft landings here this year.
teams beaten today, last sunday and next sunday will have 6,7 and 8 weeks for their next game, thats hardly economical usage of time when counties are paying out huge sums of monet in training costs each year.

Eh, no, it can't.
The World Cup is a professional event with games played by professionals every evening for a month!!
This is the GAA.
It takes longer because you have to respect the amateur.
End of.....

Donegal or Tyrone or Armagh away would be a saucy qualifier to land in.
Another point: will the smaller number of qualifier rounds help the club competitions be run off quicker: We might have to believe if we actually see it.

But you have to run off the provincial championships too - and you cannot expect players to play every weekend.

I dont see why the league and provencials run off between january and april couldnt be used to seed eight groups of four to play a champions league type championship between may and august.
the championship is out dated, theres too much money being spend training teams that are hanging around for months playing no games, what do you you do with mayo, cavan, westmeath etc for two months at training, its farcical, teams get spend the spring getting ready for a first round and then have unwind for 2 months and pick it up again for another game later on
