What about the ladies? Not too much mention of the time and effort they have to put in. You take the Cork ladies who have won both camogie and football all Ireland doubles. Yet we hear about how hard the likes of Seán Óg trains. Those ladies are hardly taking their commitment lightly. We always hear mentions of players which are pretty well known. But the danger of this is that there isn’t enough money to go around to all county players. Also the sacrifice that other people also have to put in, club chair people the fellas training the future Galvins and Ó Sés. Some of these people have been helping clubs for years and get nothing back. There are very few well known county players on the dole… Just a thought!

The ladies should have held their powder dry till the lads were sorted, the government is starting to resemble an eel traped in a hauled lobster pot sitting on deck at the moment.
besides in the general scheme of things 5 million euro from government funds is a tiny tiny tiny sum of capital, insignificant in fact.It would be like a child taking a fiver out of its pocket.

It wouldnt take much for the gaa to put a funs aside of say 10% of gate takings for player welfare issues like McGuigan.
Better than giving the money to these unnecessary security creeps who look like criminals a lot of them

There will be nothing left at that stage. Just seems odd that in 2007, all things are still not equal.

maybe the ladies need to form the LGPA and negotiate their own package with the gaa and john o donahue and not hijack the deal negotiated by the players and gaa over a protracted period of time,it appears now the government will not go through with the agreement. Rodger Fredier would have been chuffed with the drop volley riddled with back spin that the gaa and the gpa served to john o donahues feet. I still think the ladies would have been better served to keep their powder dry for the moment, nogotiations are often conducted inch by inch, just ask the polititions in the north.

when you think about it sullyschoice and break it down it feasable.
big match days are huge business for dublin and all involved, thats why the dublin chamber of commerse sreamed like like trapped rats when the posibility of playing international games outside of ireland arose,i feel this was the biggest reason croker was opened up.
