Tralee oust St. Pat’s 01 April 2007
Tralee CBS will contest this year’s All-Ireland Colleges Senior A football final thanks to a well merited 1-13 to 1-7 win over St. Pat’s, Navan at Templemore.
Coached by John O’Keeffe, Tralee leapt from the starting blocks and stormed in front with Alan O’Donoghue notching four points along with two from Barry John Walsh.
But the Meath lads got a real leg-up shortly after when Tralee full-back Joe Scully was red-carded.
Gareth Smith impressed as he kicked three of St. Pat’s first half points but Tralee’s defence held firm until ten minutes into the second half, Pat O’Rourke found the net to reduce the Meath team’s deficit to two points.
Tralee refused to panic though and a Benny Dillon goal served to help ease them past the winning post.

Thanks for this Mick. I was looking for this result earlier on but couldn't find. Well worth the wait. Congrats to the Green - anyone know when the final is fixed for?

great to see the green make the final,it would be great to see a few young tralee forwards come through the system, they are usually worth their weight in gold if they make the big time, ask kieran donaghy.

When you look at the semi final line up - St. Jarlaths, Omagh, St. Pats and The Green, you realise what exhaluted company the Green are in.
Very proud of the work that Johnno and Eamon have done in getting the team to the All Ireland final. They are only one step away from achieving what they have always wanted to do for the school.
I'd love to be at the final.

That makes 2 of us Stacks. It's a far cry from the occasional Russell cup or O'Sullivan cup contested in my days!

I was there in the early to mid '90's when they started allowing students to go to Corn Ui Mhuiri games to support the team again, around '93 and '94 when we got to the semi final and the final (and replay). The last thing I did in The Green (apart from sit and make a misery of The Leaving Cert) was go to the 1996 Frewn Cup final in Banteer (about three weeks before the leaving, no wonder I did so badly!!), which we won. I can't remember many of that team or if any of them ever made minor or U21. None made senior anyway.

Sorry admin, thought you were on about THE Paul Galvin. Correct, Paul G from Ballymac was indeed on that team.
If anything Mick, Tony being principle would have more to do with them getting to the final rather than his not being a selector on the team any longer.
