Yeah. He was in with the seniors for a while but seemed to fade away. He was playing great football for milltown when they were going well and won the county league a few years back.

In fairness to Genie, he was around for a few years, just happened to be when we had a crap team. Noel O Mahony was another good player, but moved to my club in Dublin and didnt relish the prospect of long commutes for no reward.
They really were dark times

Jack Ferriter ran very hot and cold. Genie gifted. What about Bingo Driscoll he should have made it. Pure natural talent.

Bingo played for kerry for a few years about the same time as genie. When you get depressed about results nowadays it is worth casting our minds back to those days when we could'nt buy a win.

anyone at the munster final in 1993 or 1994 in cork when a late cork surge crushed kerry yet again. My son was with me aged 5 or 6. Coming out afterwards he said.........."Daddy why do you support Kerry because they always lose"

It wasn't until Páirc Uí Chaoimh this year that my daughter finally believed me that Cork could beat Kerry! Thankfully she didn't travel to Croke Park so she can still believe it for a while... I think I was at that game, but I was young enough. Could be why I grew up thinking we could beat ye!

Stephen o Brien scored a late goal to beat Kerry. Sean Guineys goal had put kery in front with 10 minutes to go. Croke Park beckoned for a few minutes. The likes of Anthony Gleeson and Morgan Nix were playing. Good players on a poor team
