Nice work Podge, thanks.
St Marys off to a real shocker in Div 2, it will be a major effort for them to stay up now.... Considering St Michaels/Foilmore were almost relegated last year, they're doing really well so far.

St Marys position is a surprise.
Nice to see Beale doing well again after a few lean years.
The presence of a senior championship half way down division 3 would make you wonder....

The piggy man is right lads, it looks like the teams in north kerry are sick of being frowned upon by the rest of the county and Tarbert and Beale are examples of these. its time for a few more like ballylongford, ballydonahue and moyvane to get the finger out and start moving up the leagues and representing, you would get more football out of my uncles cocker spaniel at the moment. is it true p kelly has left ballylongford??

Yeah,he's after transferring to mitchels, the move was ratified at co.board meetin a few weeks ago. Gaeltacht gave crokes a desperate hammering,1-17 to 1-6. Dingle won last years div.2 final against ardfert 16 to 2-9 aet.

Interesting to note the difference between league positions and championship positions. Legion play senior championship but are struggling in division 3 and Mitchels only came up from 3 last year. Duagh are now in the intermediate championship despite being down in division 4. Moyvane and Ballylongford, 2 division 5 teams are in junior championship while Na Gaeil and Tuosist, 2 division 3 teams are down in Novice championship. Which is a truer reflection on the quality of a team, league or championship position? Any opinions?

tis hard to tell, some teams only train hard for specific competitions while other focus on the county leagues!i reckon the south kerry teams try really hard for the county leagues while teams like Moyvane and duagh are totally different teams in championship situations!sure Moyvane hammered Na Gael in the novice final last year but in div4 they got relegated and na gael got promoted!

the moyvane boys are a pure and utter north kerry championship team alright. There happy out to root and tear and roll around in the muck and bate the sheet out of their opponents. A very physical team. piggys right north kerry teams should put more effort into the county league and county championships where they will be given recognition. ballybuff are another prime example. they are happy out to conquer north kerry and leave it at that, when they have the talent to be in division 2.

Its not that amazing if u look at the results from the Co inter and junior champs,Foilmore were the only sth kerry team to win,and they are flyin at the moment.Clubs dont seem to be doing too well there but when the best players come together for Co championship with sth kerry they do well. They are picking from 9 clubs and the players on Sth kerry team seem to be well spread between the clubs i.e there isnt one club dominating the selection as you would have seen wit the brendans last year with Ardfert.

south kerry clubs are well of div.1,theres small clubs with small picks trying to cope with young people constantly leaving the area to work and go to college, return trips at weekends from dublin are nearly 500 miles, you can only do that for so long.
declan o sullivan was the only regular south kerry player on the kerry team over the last 3 years, that says a lot really.
