Kerrys record at minor and u21 is not great so how come SAM still pays a visit every few years?
The answer seems to me to be our ability to find one great player every year........
Over the past 3/4 years ...........Donaghy, Gooch, Marc, Declan, Aidan have been discovered.
David Moran and Paddy Curran look like they will be stars in a few years.
Lets not panic just yet over the Under 21s

Don't agree with this. The Golden years team and the current team were built on U21 success. Look at how many came off the 98 team 7 or 8 The same came off the 95 and 96 teams it worked out at far more than 1 a year. Tyrone are built from winning U21 teams.
The U21 record is abysmal in the last few years.

lads like tommy walsh,paul o connor,david moran,darren o sullivan,paddy curran,killan young,kieran o leary,alan o sullivan,reidy,enright,luke quinn etc would benifit greatly from an u21 run in the championship.
where do they go now, back to their clubs and have no intercounty exposure or be fast tract onto the senior panel which might be too quick.
when you look at that talent listed above the co.board need to answer questions on that lose to clare.
in '91 kerry also won an u21 all-ireland which back boned the '97 team,6 points scored v clare is not acceptable, you cant take your eye of the ball just because the senior team are winning. Its akin to a full back taking his eye of a wildly bounching ball in the square delivered from far out just because a georgous female streaker runs accross the goal mouth.
The '90s were a golden age for minor and u21 success in kerry during the depts of a senior famine, its no fluke that kerry have 4 senior all-irelands in 10 seasons three of them being doubles.

You could win at under 21 with 15 average players and get nothing coming through at senior level. Declan. Gooch, Donaghy, Darren, etc have no under 21 medals......... thats my basic point.

If Padraig Reidy and Daniel Bohane and Killian Young step up to the plate in 2007 and........... in 2008 David Moran and Paddy Curran make the cut........... to hell with winning the Under 21 All Ireland
