Sent off twice in three league games for kerry already this season. Sent off twice last year for kerry. Sent off for the stacks last year. Sent off twice for the U21's. Isnt it about time he grew up and started taking responsibility for his actions? Even Pat O Shea said so. You can say all you want bout poor refeering decesions but stats dont lie. I've watched kieran for a number of years and he does get on refs nerves with his constant b**ching. He worse in basketball. Its time for him to grow up. A superb footballer but tis year he needs to mature as everybody know about him and will be out to kick lumps outta him.

And he was sent off in the basketball final as well . Have to agree on this one , hes a lovely guy but he has now left himself open for some serious abuse for the rest of the year. Everyone will have identified this as his weak spot and will be delighted to take advantage of it.

Guys, relax. It's amazing how quickly ye can turn on a guy. To say he should grow up is ridiculous given he was player of the year last year.
The sendings off against Mayo and Cork were a joke so stats do lie sometimes.
A lot of his bookings are off the awkward tackle variety not surprising given the late age he started playing football. He could do with coaching there.
To even bring the basketball into it is a joke. Two completely different sports. Kierans sending off in the basketball were as much to do with rustiness from the lack of competitive game time than anything.

Maybe POS is miffed because apparently they are not the best of buddies. I was told donaghy was stopped playing his beloved bball to concentrate on Kerry which didnt go down well. Every Tom, Dick and Harry know some of his sendings off have been woeful reffing decisions, the munster final red last year was laughable. Every county player b*tches to the ref, its a known fact that they get away with murder on the field, especially in club games. I think he's been very hard done by in a few decisions when you consider some other red cards around the country.
In this case it is my opinion that the stats DO lie. Its amazing how quickly fans turn on a player just for small things, this is the kind of narrow minded attitude that drives players away.

I agree with the guy above . What a completely non productive thread. I know the guy has a few reds, but how many for serious fouls or stamping or any such dangerous play?
I think this is a topic where there'll be seriously mixed opinions.

Put it this way, he is developing a name for himself, whether it is justified or not and will continue to get cards if he continues that way.
Yes, he came good at the business end of the season last year and did keep the act under control, but the more niggly league red cards he gets, the harder it will be for him to get the 50/50 break in big games.

lads the sending off yesterday was joke as was that of the fermanagh keeper. most refs would have booked both players and left it at that.
the sending off v mayo was another joke,i was at both games.
this will be kieran toughest year in a kerry jersey, also because of the bizzare decision to give him player of the year.
he really needs to mind his own business this year, bury his head and go play ball.

I am sure that there are a number of managers all over the country who will target his temperment in the coming months It is his achilles heel and i am sure he will get plenty verbals and off the ball stuff this year. 'Second season syndrome' as the boys on Sky sports say!! It will be a big test for him and hopefully he will come through it.

He was quite lucky to get a month if it was for kicking as reported. Especially with his recent record however undeserved.

He need to settle down a bit. I agree with Stacks he is development a rep and he does not need it. It wont do Kerry any favours.

He's no Fionnan Murray, but he is the most talked about 'loose cannon' name right now.....even though he's nothing near it.
He has just go to be careful. We could have told him that the day after the All Ireland final. He's the new target man in more ways than one.

He will be ok too, wait and see,pat o and the lads will see to it that things pan out ok.By the the time the long autumn shadows start to becon, the evenings shorten and a wee chill comes in the air kieran will be a solid performing member of the kerry team, maybe not as spectacular as last season but solid and in fluencial all the same, wait and see.Its all part of the learning curve for the lad,he will be stronger because of the all shinanagins.Fear not.I can hear that croker theme tune playing, anyone know what its called,i wouldnt mind getting the cd,ye know the one they play after all the big games when the crowd is dispersing.
