Be the hokey......star spotting Kerry GAA style!! He looked fairly peeved when he didn't win the Oscar last night.....maybe we should give him an honorary All Star!!

Excellent day, I agree with the opening comments, the rugby has much more respect for some reason

i was in the nally stand myself for the game, croker looked magical i thought, totally splendid.
I watched the french game on the tv down in kerry and i must say i has to fight back a tear when the french ran out onto the croker sod.I was bursting with pride.i dont know about the rest of ye but i'm fierce proud of what the gaa has achieved at croker, going up to a match there is like going home on every visit to a wonderful home.
the anthems were handled with great dignity by all,not a single cat call or boo but a welcoming aplause.
like the two lads from the north agreed on,time moves on and life goes on and hopefully were growing up and maturing. Theres great things happening on this island just now with great progress being made, long may it continue.
theirs nothing like people working and pulling to-gether to create a feel good factor, surely saturday night mirrowed all this good on this island of ireland and showed the irish in a brillant light across a world audience.Well done to all concerned.

Good point Jo90...if it was played 13 times during the opening and/or closing cermonies, not only would it have been provocative because it was british as some suggested 1 playing of it last saturday was going to be, but god almighty it must have been due to the band having a very limited repertoire and provoacative anyway because of the sheer boredom factor...Welcome back Rashers, factual to the last....... Oh well, I read it from somebody else so I claim innocence Anyhow, the way it all worked out made me very proud, and it was just as I had hoped. One thing I will say though, I work very near to Croker, and for both of the games I was on duty. Thing is, around the area, especially before the games, there was nothing like the atmosphere for Gah matches - in fact it was kind of eerie really, like alot of the fans just showed up for the game, with no craic. Now that's something that I'd really like to see change, but it seems that alot of the rugby fans have decided not to sample the areas around Croker at all, which is a shame. One of the beautiful things that I wanted to see come out of this was people together who wouldnt normally be seen together.

Very proud of how the English National anthem was handled! Even prouder of the scoreline! Watched the game in an English pub in Santa Monica sitting next to the actor Peter O'Toole (who was quite lively for a man of his age), there was more Irish there than English and the atmosphere was cracking! A great win to top off a great occassion! Seeing the look on some of the Irish players faces when Amhran Na bhFiann was being sung was enough to make anyones heart burst with pride! That's weird because a little over 24 hours later he was at the Oscars in LA and during the comedien's sketch, Jack Black referred to Peter O'Toole as being British. I know he was born in Ireland and then moved to the UK when he was young but I was pretty sure that he considered himself Irish. I was just thinking that there's no way of finding out if he considers himself Irish or British, well up until now as you can surely answer that question for me as he surely didn't remain impartial during the game between Ireland and England?

Being honest............ the rugby game in Croker last saturday was not in the same planet as an all ireland final as regards colour and atmosphere

Maybe in time people will be more comfortable leaving behind their long-held traditions of where they go before and after games. Sad to see all the flags confiscated as well, what was ll that about? Flags add alot to the games for me

Yeah he was over here for the Oscars, we wished him all the best and sent him on his way! He considers himself Irish alright, from the way he was banging the table and chair and cheering when we got the tries!!
