I will be there booing my heart out when it is played. Your typical english person has no concept what so ever of the history of Ireland and the devastation the English reign over here caused. I see it as an opportunity to create awareness of the feelings of most normal irish people ( i am not a die hard republican by the way). The English has a habit of wiping all the grief they caused over the years from their memory. If they do not get a good reception then maybe they will ask why and look into the issues a bit more. The BBC commentary for the French game explained that ' 14 Irish people DIED in Croke Park after English retaliations for the MURDER of soldiers as they slept in their beds'. That is the English take on it and i intend to let them know how i feel when 'God Save the Queen' is played. Just to clarify again, i am not a die hard republican but i really depise the English way of brushing these things under the carpet.

Seamus, I'm confused, why are you going so? I'm sure there is nothing saying we have to like them, but I'm not sure booing is the right way to go about it.

I am going to support the Irish rugby team on a historic occasion. I will boo the english anthem to create awareness of the history of Ireland which the common English man has no idea of. As i said earlier, it might make a few of them wonder what this is all about. Look at the way the French captain, Ibanez, researched the history and spoke eloquently about it.

Right, I can understand that. Just meant that it is unfair to assume that all English people don't understand the significance of it. I'm sure the English aren't really allowed to forget about the history between our two countries, of which there is a lot of.

Im sure every one of the English team know (or will know before the weekend) about the history of Croke park. I dont think booing will solve anything except create tension. Perhaps a loud version of the fields of Athenry fron the Irish crowd while God save Eileen is being sung. It would show a lack of respect but in a classier way ;D

I was at the last Ireland-England game in Lansdowne Road two years ago and there was no booing of the english anthem. The gaa crowd will get the blame if it starts on saturday.
Our own national anthem is no tea party when you translate it. Let it go Seamus. Thats my advise.

Id agree with that, booing is not the answer.

Two words, Martin Johnson! Don’t think we’d want to stoop to that level.

I will be a bit disappointed if there is booing at the game when the anthem is being played or if Johny Wilkinson is lining up his penalty kick or conversion!!
No need for it really!!
Come on..It's surely time to move on and grow up...
Oh I'd say some people will hate that comment......
There is nothing to gain by it. No point being stuck in the past!
If England win I'd say they won't be allowed to celebrate either...
Looking forward to a great game.. Ireland do look too strong and should pull through. I would say few are contemplating a defeat!!
