Mickmack that's a great stat but didn't Ardfert get beaten in the St Brendans championship during that time?
For Saturday , did anyone hear that the starting time has been put back by half an hour?

Not sure people in Ardfert and surrounding areas would agree with you Lolly regarding the hype! Certainly would be some achievement if they can pull it off. I hope to be there on Saturday and am looking forward to both games. Hopefully the weather will be improve.

Was going to go to Kerry for the league game this weekend, but might just bring the son to croker for the two games instead...are they really on there...what sort of crowd are they expecting. I live in Dublin and have heard nothing about these games being in HQ

Congrats to Ardfert on a monumental achievement. 1-4 to 5pts was very low scoring by their standards but they got the cup. Weeshie gave Francis wallace man of the match with john egan getting the vital goal ......again.

I was in Croke park.
The Duagh match was better. More open. Greencastle were better and were 3 points up coming into the last 5 minutes. Duagh stormed back and got 2 points. One minute of added time was announced. Greencastle caught the crucial kickout from Duaghs last point and worked it up to the 21 yard line but Duagh broke it up and worked it up beyond the half way line......... the one minute elapsed as all of a sudden a duagh player was free inside his man waiting for the pass to equalise....... the ref blew up......... the lazy hoor didnt want the extra time obviously. I have never seen such gracious losers as duagh....... they applauded greencastle....... they applauded their fans and then Ardfert came out onto the field and started to warm up. Duagh stood on the 21 yard line in a line next to where Ardfert were warming up and applauded them . They then walked off with their heads up.
Ardfert started like they would take Eoin Ruadh apart . John Egan brilliantly finished off a sweeping move to the net and several other moves broke down......it looked like they could get 3 more goals but it didnt happen for them. At half time they were 1.3 to 3 points up.
The second half was more like an italian soccer match from the 80s. Ardfert brough corner forward Damien wallace back as a second centre back. His marker stood his ground and stayed back. We therefore had 7 backs against 5 forwards at each end and it was very tight with Ardfert deciding to "have what you hold". It worked........ but it wasnt pretty.
Eoin Ruadh needed a goal but it was never likely to happen. Francis Wallace was excellent. Stephen Wallace missed easy frees which would have taken the pressure off.
Still.......... sufficient unto the day is the glory thereof........... the cup will be in Ardfert tonight.
The joke afterwards was that Ardfert were pre booking City West for 17th March 2008.......for the clubs final in Senior.
There you have it.
