The Kinnane Stand (Old Stand) at Semple Stadium has undergone a major facelift with the completion of Phase 1 of the stadium's refurbishment with magnificent new dressing rooms and facilities for players and referees. The entrance area has also been developed with food and merchandise outlets as well as new toilets facilities.
Of Kerry interest is the larger than life mural of Maurice Fitzgerald recalling the magnificent point he scored in the stadium against Dublin. It is on display alongside murals of Cork's Sean Óg Ó hAilpín, Tipperary's Eoin Kelly and Declan Browne, Waterford's Ken McGrath, Andrew O'Shaughnessy of Limerick and Brian Lohan of Clare, all of whom displayed their unique distinctive skills in recent times at Semple Stadium continuing to prove true the slogan of the Thurles venue as "The Field of Legends."
