the analogy with roy keane is appropriate. They both operate at a different level when in a rage. Jack o Connor, the cute hoor put Brendan Guiney marking galvin in the infamous game behind closed doors before last years final. Finuge v Listowel emmets. Back to basics as seamus Moynihan called it.
Its when he does something sneaky when there is no need for it that annoys me.

i'd fully concur with the sneaky related comment, but sometimes that comes with the teritory when certain players enter their zone of top end performance.Back to basics win all-irelands,paul was no where near the zone for the munster championship nor the longford game,i remember commenting on the old forum before the armagh or longford game that paul would seriously need up up the anti,he certainly did after that. How many games dont have a few sneaky incidents in them, what do you do,drop him because of it,i couldnt see that happening,if you restrict him you may as well leave him on the bench, its a catch 22 situation. Only two of his games were controversial last year out of seven games played, both of these were at the coal face when you need your players to be in their zones v armagh and cork in the white hot heat of croker championship football.

From the throw in the player marking Galvin has the elbow in the ribs. Now we all know thats to get him going and hope thats he is sent off. He gets a bit hot headed some times but thats his game. Not always pretty but effictive. He is a rough tough (and might I add hansome) talented player

i think ye are giving galvin a hard time, he has massive pressure from club county and supporters ye couldnt compare to the pressure he goes through in the spot light and a lot of stuff gets high lighted too much...
i know he should be behaving the wa y he is but thats just who he is, off the field the man is a real honest nice guy,i should know i went to school with him and live in the same parish!

why do you think that finuge could do what ardfert did and win the intermediate county, munster and all ireland titles after winning the junior all ireland.
After all Finuge had 3 men with all ireland senior medals while ardfert had no such players.
The achievement of Finuge has been dimished somewhat by the achievement of ardfert ...........in fairness.
Would you agree?

why do you think that finuge could do what ardfert did and win the intermediate county, munster and all ireland titles after winning the junior all ireland. im not too sure what you are asking, ? but the problem with most teams in north kerry theyu only play for the nkc and thats it, there were a few comment going around christmass about duagh, and the only reason they lost in the nkc is that they knew they couldnt go any further in the nkc, but i dont think so, they have a grand fine young team. finuge problem is there are dual players hurling and football and even some playing soccer, than you have fitzy and galvin who are playing with the county and are nearly burnt when it comes to the nkc, basicaly the nk lads dont have a care for anything other than the nkc.... no lie

Ardfert won the junior in Kerry, Munster and then the all ireland. The following year they did the same at INTERMEDIATE. With no county players and several lads who also play hurling. Surely Finuge would have been in a better position that ardfert to do so with breen, fitzmaurice and galvin on board............

Paul Galvin is essential to Kerry. He is tough committed and has developed as an excellent footballer in the last two years. He rarely initiates any rough stuff. He is reactive. I think 30 fancy dan footballers will win nothing in todays game. The media should lay off Galvin. He is hated by opponents. In Limerick he is despised. Personally I think that amoungst Kerry fans he is easily one of the most popular players in the current outfit.I was in Heuston Station Dublin last year after I think the Cork game. The cheer he got was hair raising. WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GET ROUGH/GOING..........................
